All star teams are broken up by age: 9-10 year olds,
10-11 year olds and 11-12 year olds.
NOTE: The age of the player is the 'league age' which is their age on April 30.
All Minors, Majors and Juniors players are invited to all star tryouts. Players for the 9-10 and 11 year old teams can come from either the Minors or Majors division. Players for the 11-12 year old team can come from only the Majors division. Players attend the tryout session, where they are assessed by the All star coaches and by the Majors division coaches. 12 or 13 players will be selected for each team.
All star tryouts generally take place in the middle of June and cannot take place before June 15. Practices begin soon after the team selection. Practice times and days are set by the coach of the all star team. District tournament play usually begins after July 4. The exact date and location are determined by the District 2 staff, and often not determined until late June.
Players and parents must know that playing on the All-stars will require a large amount of time and commitment. Players must commit to practice and game schedules before trying out. Missing a practice or two will be permissible, but players must be available for almost all practices and all tourney games. Practices are daily, usually lasting 2 hours or more. A single Tournament can take up to a week to complete.
Several documents are required for the players. Copies of birth certificates, proof of residence, and a medical release form must be submitted.

In Lieu of Birth Certificate Statement
If the team wins the district tournament, it then proceeds to the Colorado State Little League Tournament. The 11-12 year old team can then proceed to the Southwest region tournament if they win the state tournament. All of these tournaments are double elimination, so a team must lose two games to drop out of the tournament. Winning the Southwest region tournament allows the team to enter the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
